COGN Baby is a conceptual design for a patient care system app that empowers mothers of infants, toddlers, and babies in utero to foster cognitive empathy in their children. The app’s name, "COGN," derives from the Latin root for "to learn," reflecting its focus on nurturing emotional intelligence during critical early developmental stages.

The app’s branding combines the typefaces Rockwell STD and Helvetica Neue with a pastel palette of blue, purple, and yellow anchored by a dark purple logo. Custom icons guide users through features like empathy games, bonding exercises, and neurological updates, ensuring an intuitive and visually appealing design.

Cognitive empathy—the ability to understand and relate to another’s perspective—develops early in life but often becomes secondary to achievement-based skills as children grow. COGN Baby addresses this by offering features like empathy-building exercises, developmental insights, journaling for pregnancy milestones, and music bonding activities. The home screen serves as a hub for tracking growth, scheduling bonding sessions, and receiving daily tips on parenting, development, and emotional connection.

COGN Baby reminds parents to praise Empathetic behavior more often and to recognize acts of kindness, teaching the child specifically what they did right.
COGN Baby emphasizes the natural empathy present in infants and provides tools to foster it from an early age. By praising kindness, recognizing emotional expression, and teaching the effects of actions, parents can build a foundation for their child’s lifelong social and emotional success.

Music helps create a wonderful bonding experience for mom and baby, reduce stress levels during pregnancy, enhance the stimulation of your unborn baby’s growing brain, and improve sleeping patterns for a newborn baby.

Encouraging emotional expression of feelings helps you to express your own feelings and teaches children how actions can affect others.
